Creating Healing Experiences That Work
Workshop for Practitioners
Upcoming Opportunities
Most of us choose to do this work because of our strong desire to support others and we choose tools that we feel connected to and/or have worked well for us - so well that we want to share them with others.
Many feel challenged by the business or customer service side of their practice and don't know where to go for support.
This workshop will show you how to:
- Consistently demonstrate compassion so your clients have the courage to collaborate with you which speeds the rate of healing.
- Wrap your sessions in positive emotion to open those who are suffering to the value of the treatment.
- Engage the head and heart to invite and activate healing.
- Quickly take action for little or no cost.
- Create a positive experience for the practitioner, staff and the Respant*.
Tools Taught in the Workshop Include:
- EIM Journey Map™ - understanding the healing experience from the Respant's point of view by identifying the "moments that matter".
- EIM Emotional Target™ - aligns all aspects of your experience towards a desired emotional connection that promotes healing.
- EIM Sensory Palette™ - engage all five senses to create the desired emotional connection.
- EIM Metaphors for Processes™ - used to capture the meaning of what we're experiencing.
- EIM Experience Roles™ - roles guide behavior so everyone can be genuinely engaged and emotionally connected.
- EIM Language Guidelines™ - supportive emotional language, both written and verbal, aids to wrap treatment in healing feelings.
*Respant is a term coined by Dr. Bernie Siegel to mean "responsible participant". Respants are those who take an active role in their health, healing and life.

Creating a New Office Healing Oasis
When Sherri Hered, M.B.A., M.Ed., Body Stress Release Practitioner, decided to move her office into a new, expanded space, one of the first things she did was consult her EIM tools to guide her decisions.
“Looking for the space, I kept in mind my EIM Emotional Target of Comfortable, Understood and Renewed,” Hered says. She found a location with easy access from major streets and plenty of free parking, surrounded by businesses providing amenities both she and her Respants can enjoy.
Next came the challenge of creating space for different activities within her new open floor plan. “I knew I wanted to have the entry feel like home — a place to take off your shoes, get comfortable, and transition from whatever is going on in the rest of your life to be ready for renewal. I also teach yoga, and need an open space for that, along with an office area, and of course the table for my body stress release work,” Hered explains. The space worked well to be easily segmented for four distinct purposes.
Armed with the EIM Sensory Palette™, Hered headed for IKEA®. "Some of my friends are overwhelmed by all the choices offered. With the Sensory Palette, it was easy to make decisions and know the result will work perfectly. I thought I wanted bench seating. Then I realized, that’s not 'comfortable.' It was a bit like Goldilocks and the Three Bears as I sat in chairs to find the one style with a 'just right' feeling of comfort," she explains.
Hered’s Sensory Palette colors are blue, yellow and green; and the textures are cotton, human touch and earthy. "In the fabric area I found a contemporary print that reminded me of a tropical spa. The colors are perfect. It became the inspiration for paint and fabric," she continues. The palette textures will be incorporated by using lamps with handmade paper shades, natural fiber curtains to divide the space and "earthy" accents.
"Having the Sensory Palette made this process a joy. Shopping was easy and efficient. Every time I found something that was within the guidelines, it just 'felt' right. It was fun to be able to really sense the feeling I want in my space. Those guidelines really work. I’m looking forward to seeing this come together," she says.
Hered also plans to apply the metaphors and use the open yoga area that Respants will walk through between the entry and the treatment area. The open space creates the opportunity for a ritual or process that supports the metaphors of journey and movement. Some ideas she may incorporate include setting intentions, brief meditation, or an empowering movement inspired by her yoga practice.
